This one is truly a gem. It makes for an excellent post-run lunch, or a snack, or even breakfast! It is recovery food and it is the final proof that it does not have to be boring or tasteless. It doubles as a sweet treat too, so you can have savoury as a main and sweet as a dessert. And this recipe is super fast to make! No need to say it is my new favourite post-run meal. By the way, I am preparing a “recipe treasure box” for you, a list of my favourite recipes for post-run meals, runner-friendly … Continue reading Sweet potato toast!
Per chi ci segue dall’Italia, ecco una mini versione del racconto della gara di ieri in italiano. Come vedete, vi vogliamo bene! E siete fantastici con il vostro tifo. Il piano sulla carta era “semplice”: partire da Predazzo alla mattina, … Continue reading Maratonina d’autunno! Mezza di Frangarto
When you run and decide to put yourself out there, things can work out, or not. Yesterday Francesco and I ran a half marathon in South Tyrol: he wasn’t happy with his race, and I was possibly the happiest half-marathoner … Continue reading Monster post! Frangart Half Marathon
Some time ago, I was asked to work for a theatre festival in Italy. We weren’t sure initially, as we had already done so much travelling over the months of September and October and we knew how tiring it can be. But we managed to sprinkle some holiday time into our work trip, and we are most happy we did decide to spend a week on home soil. We definitely made the most of it! We were extremely lucky with the weather. We enjoyed some stunning Autumn days and ended up spending so much time outside, taking in that very … Continue reading Just… life (as it should be)
In the whirlwind of all the (exciting!) new things that are going on in our life – promise we will make a new post soon! – it is good to know where one comes from. And Francesco is very well … Continue reading New horizons… same origins
We organised our little version of #Breaking2 over the weekend. It wasn’t about breaking any 2 – hours, minutes, or legs, but it was about breaking one’s limits – in this case, my time for a half marathon. We picked a course, a pace, and a pacer, and set off to break my PR. No actual race, no other competitors, no medals, no frills. Francesco had come back from his running retreat in Tuscany with a renewed enthusiasm not just for running, which had never faltered, but also for coaching me, which was an outcome as sweet as unexpected. We … Continue reading Our own #Breaking2
By Francesco After a hectic week of work, it’s time to share with you the wonderful experience I had in Tuscany for a 3-day running retreat in the fields surrounding Siena, more precisely on the gravel roads of San Rocco … Continue reading Sun, Champions, Friends, Smiles…and An Awful Lot Of Ks!
You climb the mountain in an equilibrium between restlessness and exhaustion. Robert M. Pirsig, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance Oh, Sunday. I had almost lost hope you would come. I am still waiting for my husband, but … Continue reading Reporting from my couch – recipe of the week
The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. Today was not an easy day, and we were apart, but on these days one can only do their best and move on. And on those days, it is even more meaningful to have the right person(s) by your side. Thank you to my friend and colleague for getting me through this day and to my husband for supporting me even though he was thousands of miles from me. Greetings from two very different places. Sometimes you’ve got to take a step back and enjoy the view. Continue reading #SuckItUp
What a week! I worked non-stop from Monday to Saturday. Three different meetings in three days for the EU, and one more three-day meeting on the private market, this time in Montreux, Switzerland. I was not 100% sure I would be able to come out alive, but here I am to tell the tale! More than anything, this post is meant to celebrate friendship. I was lucky enough to work with a wonderful friend who went to university in Geneva with me and with whom everything became easy, even working for a full day with an early start (7 AM!) … Continue reading Work work work… and friendships, and love
